Lifting Equipment Engineers

lifting equipment engineers

    equipment
  • The necessary items for a particular purpose

  • A tool is a device that can be used to produce or achieve something, but that is not consumed in the process. Colloquially a tool can also be a procedure or process used for a specific purpose.

  • The process of supplying someone or something with such necessary items

  • The act of equipping, or the state of being equipped, as for a voyage or expedition; Whatever is used in equipping; necessaries for an expedition or voyage; the collective designation for the articles comprising an outfit; equipage; as, a railroad equipment (locomotives, cars, etc.

  • an instrumentality needed for an undertaking or to perform a service

  • Mental resources

    engineers
  • A person qualified in a branch of engineering, esp. as a professional

  • (engineer) design as an engineer; "He engineered the water supply project"

  • (engineer) the operator of a railway locomotive

  • The operator or supervisor of an engine, esp. a railroad locomotive or the engine on an aircraft or ship

  • (engineer) a person who uses scientific knowledge to solve practical problems

  • A person who designs, builds, or maintains engines, machines, or public works

    lifting
  • Raise to a higher position or level

  • Increase the volume or pitch of (one's voice)

  • Move (one's eyes or face) to face upward and look at someone or something

  • aerodynamic lift: the component of the aerodynamic forces acting on an airfoil that opposes gravity

  • (lift) raise: raise from a lower to a higher position; "Raise your hands"; "Lift a load"

  • (lift) the act of giving temporary assistance

A Stochastic Simulation of a United States Naval Conflict with a Land- Based Opponent: The Impact of C4ISR

This is a NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL MONTEREY CA report procured by the Pentagon and made available for public release. It has been reproduced in the best form available to the Pentagon. It is not spiral-bound, but rather assembled with Velobinding in a soft, white linen cover. The Storming Media report number is A049913. The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: This thesis develops a low-resolution stochastic simulation model to assess the impact of the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance components of C4ISR, and strike capabilities on the mission success of a United States carrier battle group (CVBG). The simulation uses a stochastic approach to model a two-day conflict between a CVBG and a land-based enemy which incorporates the randomness and uncertainty inherent in warfare. The simulation is implemented as a C++ computer program to develop a tool to analytically exercise a prospective new system in order to predict its possible effect on combat operations. Experiments were run which simulated a two-day battle in which the United States CVBG sensor availability, sensor accuracy, and weapons availability were varied to study their affect on the outcome of the battle. Statistical analysis techniques are used to quantitatively measure the results of the battle as the sensor and weapon parameters change.

Minnesota Guard engineers save levee road

Minnesota Guard engineers save levee road

Soldiers of the Minnesota National Guard's 682nd Engineer Battalion repaired a washed out levee that also served as a neighborhood access road in Minot, ND July 11-12. Using heavy equipment provided by the North Dakota National Guard, the 682nd filled 1-ton sand bags, trucked them to the site and lifted them into place preventing the further destruction of the levee road. Sgt. 1st Class Clinton Headley, 850th Horizontal Engineer Company, supervised the operation of a 002 Hydraulic Excavator.

The SPMTs-- that's Self-Propelled Modular Transporters-- are in place and awaiting marching orders. These strong machines, four of them in total, will lift the bridge from its temporary supports and drive it down Route 9 this weekend. The machines are the large, blue pieces of equipment in the photo.

First, crews need to demolish the old bridge, Then they will add new pier and abutment caps. Once those are in place, the 530-ton bridge will take its short journey down Route 9 and be lowered by the SPMTs into place.

Cranes and Derricks

Everything you need to know about using cranes and derricks If you employ cranes, trust one rock-solid reference to provide tried-and-tested guidelines for selecting and working with them safely and efficiently. Nothing available covers the subject with the depth and expertise you'll find in Cranes and Derricks. The authors - Howard I. Shapiro, Jay P. Shapiro, and Lawrence K. Shapiro, are the principals of an international firm that's helped define the state-of-the-art in crane and derrick engineering. This new third edition addresses... *the latest innovations and technologies, including new telescopic crane attachments and heavy-lift mobile crane arrangements - both telescopic and lattice boom - and newly-permitted partial outrigger extensions *a solution to the problem of crane stability under dynamic loading *crane support considerations, pick-and-carry work, tailing operations, site access and other site issues *new information on safety and accident avoidance and risk management *and much, much more
